In this overview will be covering the ever-so popular browser based MMO genre and F2P MMO genre. Before I begin, I will tell you about browser based MMOs which have over 20 million active players every day. The main reason for this is that browser based MMOs require no download, are user friendly and can be activated and started very quickly. Free to play 3d MMOs require a download but offer better graphics, more players and a greater sustenance level. Transformice is currently one of the most addicting browser based MMO games (free of charge )out there as it is considered pure mayhem. Players control rats whose main job is to get cheese faster than any other mouse on the map. Bigpoint game has brought us yet another browser based MMO titles Warmachines. This game is based on tank warfare. Players will explore vast islands and use their terrain tactically to defeat both other players and computer controlled bots. A great crafting system also adds to the fun and players will be able to collect items while exploring and build weapons and upgrades from these items. Improving your tank is done very easily via a balanced market and a crafting system. Guilds and teamwork is very important in this game and players will team up with others to conquer their opponents. The game also offers some of the best graphics out of the browser based world and packs a lot of action into one small browser. In Warmachines, you are a mercenary who must control islands and defeat enemies. PVP is a large part of this game as players will fight for their island as well as their faction. Warmachines is another successful hit from Bigpoint and won’t disappoint.

4. Legendary Champions

Legendary Champions is a new F2P 3D MMO that was recently announced by Aeria games. The game challenges players to adventure into vast and unexplored territory in a fantasy world and compete in DOTA-Styled PVP as well as battlegrounds. The closed beta is set to begin at the end of summer in 2010 and is a highly anticipated title. There are over sixty champions to choose from, each with their own skills and abilities to turn the tide in the player’s favor. Teamwork is necessary and valuable in Legendary Champions as players will work together for a common goal. Players must conquer dungeons and epic monsters as they dive into this fantasy world. 5.World of Lordcraft

World of Lordcraft is a fantasy browser based MMO that is in no way connected to the hit MMO World of Warcraft. In World of Lordcraft, players will build cities and expand their empire in a Chine environment. PVE is a major part of this as players will fight against computer controlled bots for land and resources. PVP is very fun as players will team up with others and form guilds and alliances to destroy opposing members on the battlefield. This adds a fun and exciting twist to a very good game. There are some minor bugs with the game but nothing that will interfere with the awesome gameplay that World of Lordcraft has to offer. The game does pull a lot of history from World of Warcraft such as the Alliance and Horde factions. This adds more tension in PVP as it will decide who reigns supreme. The areas of particular interest are also similar to World of Warcraft but do not give the same feeling. World of Lordcraft is a fun browser based game that is worth a try if you are into World of Warcraft.

Blade Wars is a 2.5D F2P MMO that is being published by Changyou and is currently in Open Beta phase. There are three playable factions that offer different classes which is textbook to MMOs but the combat in this game is very unique and stands out the most. There is a lot of animation and flashy skills in Blade Wars which act as eye candy for players. There are combo chains for players to perform and hundreds of skills to use. There are countless quests for players to do in which they will be rewarded with experience, items and upgrades. The music in this game relates a Chinese feel to the game which his perfect but the graphics is unfortunately mediocre, being the only real let down to this title. The guild wars in this game are tremendously fun and teamwork is the key to success. The game’s tutorial system is very detailed and will allow players to get into the game quickly and perfect the game. Blade Wars is an impressive 2.5D MMO and deserves a try.

7.Pet Forest

Pet Forest is a F2P MMO hosted by Playomg that is based solely on pets. There is a lot of combat, crafting, collecting and exploration to do in this adorable looking game and pets are always at your side, to assist you in every situation. The world has a lot of events to get players pets and accessories. There are two classes to choose from, the priest and the warrior. The priest is the healer while the warrior is the all out attacker. Pets usually take the same route as their master and will follow the master’s every command, once treated well. Treatment to the pet is an important part of the game as pets will not help players if not treated well. The game’s community is very kind and helpful and gives many guides to help players find their way through the world. Pet Forest is a game that anyone can enjoy and have fun with so try it out and you won’t regret it.

8.Freejack

Freejack is a free to play racing game where players race head to head across many maps in New Jack City as one of four characters. World of Tanks is a popular team based MMO entering closed beta very soon. It is set in the World War II environment where you are the controller of a tank and must defeat enemies in multiple exciting missions. It follows history very closely and you control tanks of Germany, America and the Soviet Union. Customization in this game is limitless as players will use rewards to upgrade their weapons and tanks. The game is a mixture of simulation and RPG elements which uses strategy to make it stand out. All these elements combine to make an explosive action based game. New players are sent onto the battlefield immediately, either combating other computer controlled opponents or fighting against real enemies. The player vs Player factor in this game is out of this world and there are many epic tank clashes. The game also requires deep squad based tactics. Players are on teams and must combat their opponents as a team; otherwise there will be no success.
