War of Legends online is a Chinese Browser strategy game or Real time strategy game set in multiplayer model. The Chinese name of “War of Legends” is 封神无敌 (World of Feng Sheng) published in China on October 18, 2009, and the Vietnam’s beta version was released by Sgame.vn. Yesterday, we covered the English Version of “war of Legends” published bu Jagex, UK-based Browser Game Vanguard and Tycoon, and even the number of Runescape’s online players has been logged down in the Guinness Book of world records. Overnight, Jagex become a third-party publisher of online browser mmorpg or MMORTS.

War of Legends is an adaptation from a Chinese famous novel Apotheosis of Heroes, or Canonization of Gods (Translated version)

War of Legends Background:
According to legend, The vast ancient China will be faced with a catastrophe upon each millennium. The storyline of War of Legends takes place in BC, between mid-1100, to coincide with the dawn of the millennium catastrophe. In the Central Plains of China, the war between the Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty was fiercely engaged for a prolonged time. This is war between the immortals and Taoists, the Monarch and officials of master and servant, the three religions (Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism) and the nine schools (Confucianism, Taoist, Astrologist, Legalist, Nominalist, Mohist, Diplomatist, Miscellanist and Agriculturist) and even the ordinary people have been engaged in the surging tide of history.

—————-The Real Developer—————
Founded in 2005, UltiZen is one of China’s largest all-platform game art outsourcing partner and PC game developer.
Exactly, UltiZen is behind War of Legends and Jagex is only a third party that got a licensed franchise to publish in North America and European Countries.
However, with reference to the game background story, War of Legends is a brand-new browser game, and totally new to No-Chinese players. The problem is War of Legends in China has tons of copycats there. Over the past two years, we have seen Evony, TransForce, Empire Craft, Kingory, Three Kingdoms Online, Warrior Legends, Lords Online and much more—published in North America and Europe.
They are using micro-transaction to roll money from innocent players, even the game is set in the browser, is it safe for your personal data?
Well, let’s continue to talk about the similarity :
1, City-building model: Construct command post, tech search. Oh, wait, I cannot imagine, in Ancient China, there is a university. How weird! It never makes sense.
2, producing resources: Food, Timber, Stone, and Copper, full of platitudes
3, Forming an Alliance, which is really a ridiculous translation. In China, during Shang and zhou Dynasty period, I have never heard of the term “Alliance”
4,Recruiting a legendary hero. (Later you will find your hero will be stuck on the campaign, No one can fix the bug )
5, Daily Task.
6, Virtual Items. (That is the game’s “essence”), we call this Money-rolling Machine.
7, Go to war.
8, even the characters they are using in game plagiarized Three Kingdoms Period hero portrait. Really does not match with the history.
What is “TWar of Legends” about? I still don’t know. If it means to be a copycat of a traditional Chinese browser MMORTS, then why did they introduce University in BC time, ridiculous, funny, weird. If it is a new browser MMORPG, then why did they copy all of these, No innovative, no original! Sheerly backward!
The whole game feels like a taut game of cat-and-mouse between players.

After the recent round of bannings and server merges a lot of Evony players are moving to War of Legends. Often whole alliances moving together.

You have no right to critisize Jagex, you’re insulting a game for being better then Evony, and other BS fake games, it’s just like saying Heroes of Newerth is a terrible game, because its a copy of of Defence of the Ancients.
Fail troll fails. Troll another game Please.

I am a player of both games and so far I find WoL to be better than Evony…the graphics are better, you can do multiple things at once (instead of just one building, you can do multiple)…personally, WoL will pound Evony into the dirt…
not telling

I am not an automated message unlike those three comments above me, but I still say that War of Legends beats Evony (or Civony as they want us to forget) any day. True, the only reason I joined was because Jagex was involved, and its simmilar to Evony.
~But the original chinese version was BEFORE Evony!
~Jagex is involved, and they will hold UltiZen accountable if anything goes wrong!
~THEY GAVE US FREE JCREDITS AND COFFER AND GOLD CHARM FOR THE END OF BETA!!!!!
lol noob article

SO lame…Evony parody? wow, if yout ook your time to see when was War of Legends chinese version first launched youd see it was way before evony. delete thsi disgracefula rticle, fags
Lol

Really? If I read that right, at one point you say that War of legends is a copy/parody of evony and then later you call Evony and several other games a copy of War of Legends. Which is it? Also, this article just sounds like someone that didn’t understand the game (War of Legends) and is just ranting like a little child about the whole thing. Alot of bugs that had appeared in War of Legends while it was in Beta and now, which you would have to expect in any MMO, have been fixed or are fixed shortly after they are reported.

Pfft at bugs being fixed on war of legends.
The game is getting buggier as we go along. Ever head f a pc game called paintball….
we deal with jagex mods who dont have a clue as to whats going on. they say we are out of beta bu the mods say we are still in beta. they are pushing new updates aimed at getting cash hand over fist even tho they add more bugs…dont play war of legends. it is total crap with lousy support.

You definitely underestimated the wisdom of the ancient Chinese civilization…
I can tell you certainly that they had universities back then.

This article is complete crap… chinese war of legends was out BEFORE evony so therefore evony is a war of legends parody… secondly confucianism and probably more things that this article cites as part of the war was not even about until much much much later.
nice job you definitely didn’t do your research.

From what I was able to find the Chinese version of war of legends was released October 18th 2009. At that time evony had been out of beta for 6 months. Some people claim that war of legends was released first but never give a date. Don’t get me wrong War of legends is, in my opinion, a lot more fun than evony. All of these games were inspired by the original civilization.
